Forget those fancy room air cleaners, according to researcher Kamal Meattle you can achieve better results with 3 specific types of common, waist high, potted plants arranged strategically around your house.
Meattle recommends the Areca Palm, Mother in Law’s Tongue, and “Money Tree.” Watch a brief video here to get his recommendations about how many pants are needed based on the number of persons in your living or work space.
The Areca Palm is recommended for the living room because it removes CO2 and converts it into Oxygen all day. You will need to wipe the leaves every day to make sure it is breathing properly. The Areca Palm also needs some time outside every three to four months.
Mother in Law’s Tongue should be used in the bedroom because it converts CO2 into Oxygen at night. So it is the Yin to the Areca Palm Yang.
The “Money Tree” can be placed anywhere and is a valuable member of the team because it removes formaldehyde and other toxins from the air.
With these plants you can “grow” all the fresh air you need. In fact Meattle says you and these three plants could live in a sealed bottle and you would not die. He goes on to explain that they tested these plants over 15 years in a 50,000 square foot building in India. They found a 20 percent increase in productivity, a significant reduction in headaches, respiratory illness, and eye irritations. Plus the government of India says this is the healthiest building in their country. And the building reduced it’s energy consumption by 15 percent because it needed to pump in less fresh air.
