Must Have Beauty Products

You find them in any fashion magazine or when you’re up late watching TV…all of a sudden here comes a “new revolutionary product” made from vegetarian oysters plucked from the sea during the night of the Winter Solstice and it guarantees to solve your skin, hair, and emotional issues after the first two applications…plus it’s a bargain at $150 an ounce. Are you tempted by these new incredible products? Or do you view them with caution? It appears, despite those amazing claims by beauty products, many women depend on more familiar brands.

A recent survey of 2,000 women by the British company Superdrug says there is one product a woman can’t live without. What would you guess it is? It’s not a spinning mascara brush, eye cream that makes you look years younger, or a futuristic pillow that gives you a great night sleep. What is the product most of the women said they can’t live without? Vaseline. Jeff Wemyss, Superdrug Trading Director says, "When asked what women couldn't do without, whatever the cost, it's Vaseline that came out top. The little tin of soothing salve not only protects skin from the effects of weather and exposure, it also acts like a sealant to protect the natural water loss of our skin and is a staple handbag item for women.”

Also on the list: Olay moisturizer, Nivea hand cream, Gillette razors, and Herbal Essences shampoo.

There were some interesting opinions about health and beauty in the survey as well. They found out 63 percent of women think they will have to cut back on what they spend on hair and makeup this year. Sixty two percent of the women said they would stop buying clothes before they stopped buying their beauty products. And perhaps most revealing…42 percent of women admitted they often buy the more expensive products because they will look good sitting on the shelves in the bathroom. Talk about a twist on buying a product to look good.

Here is the entire list.
