Once again Earth Day is approaching. Wednesday, April 22nd people will plant trees, remember to recycle, ride their bike, and maybe even volunteer to pick up trash along the river. We’re all busy, and instead of making a grand gesture make a commitment to do just a few little things…it can make a big difference! 1. Change a Light Bulb Installing a compact fluorescent bulb (CFL) is the quickest, easiest way to save energy -- and money. Replace one 75-watt incandescent bulb with a 25-watt CFL and save up to $83 over the life of the bulb. 2. Unplug Things That Glow Anything that glows even after you turn it off continues to draw power (that you pay for). Unplug the offenders from wall sockets and plug them into power strips and when you leave a room, flip the strip switch to cut the flow of electricity. Unplug appliances and electronics that glow and you could save $200 a year. 3. Recycle Your Electronics Check out www.MyGreenElectronics.org to help find a recycling resource in your area. The site also provides a list of electronics, from laptops to baby monitors, that are easier on the environment and your energy bill. 4. Audit Your Energy
Scour your recipe books on Sundays and make a meal plan for the week. Add needed items to your shopping list. Make a few meals ahead of time and freeze them for the busiest evenings.
Check your address book against the return address to make sure your information is up-to-date.
Even if you just swing your arms or take a deep breath, you'll feel more alert.
Turn sweater inside out and gently tug threads back into the fabric with a needle.
You might not think of a dress as casual, but a shirtdress can definitely be comfortable. The style is simple, easy to wear and flatters most figure types.
Who says that blocks of time on your calendar have to involve a meeting with others? Schedule a meeting for yourself, and keep the appointment. And don't forget the importance of saying yes to your health by getting enough sleep and exercising.
Place towel, firm water bottle or an empty coffee cup between the knees as you sit up tall with the abs in. Squeeze the bottle or cup, release halfway and squeeze again, completing 16 reps of slow pulses.
Water is essential for your health and beauty, so make sure to drink minimum 6 glasses of mineral water each day. Coffee, tea and alcoholic drinks cause dehydration. If you wake up in the morning with a sad look, it signifies that your body is lack of water. Inadequate water in your body gives an obvious effect to your skin.
We are starting to get some sunny days. Head outside during lunch, and soak up some sun. Even if it is for 15 minutes, your body and mind will thank you.
